Angura

The story of Angura begins in 2019 in the picturesque village of Asureti, located in the Kvemo Kartli region. Two brothers embarked on this journey by purchasing an abandoned 1-hectare vineyard, home to a variety of grape varieties including Tavkveri, Asuretuli Shala, Saperavi, Goruli Mtsvane, Chinuri, and Rkatsiteli. This diverse collection of grapes marked the beginning of their winemaking adventure.
In 2020, they expanded their vineyard by planting an additional hectare with Goruli Mtsvane. They eagerly anticipate their first harvest from these new vines this year, which promises to bring a fresh dimension to their wines.
They started making wine in 2021 at their summer house, located 15 kilometers away from the vineyard. In 2024, they built a new cellar within the vineyard, where they will process their first harvest directly from the vineyard. They take care of the vineyard using only contact treatments such as copper and sulfur, ensuring sustainable practices. Their wine is made naturally with wild yeast, without filtration, and without the use of sulfur.
