Mukuzani Wine Cellar founded in 2016 by winemaker Vako Katamadze, a seventh-generation winemaker, the winery is deeply rooted in the history of Georgian viticulture. After receiving his education in Europe and building a successful career at a prestigious German winery, Vako returned to his homeland to apply his knowledge and passion to Georgian winemaking. By blending ancient Georgian traditions with modern techniques, he has crafted exceptional wines such as Mukuzani Qvevri and Pinot Noir Qvevri, which reflect his innovative vision.
The winery’s vineyards are located in the Mukuzani microzone, on historic plots like "Lomiauri" and "Nadarbazebi," home to Saperavi vines over 40 years old. Using green harvest methods, the vineyards are meticulously managed to ensure high-quality grapes, with yields limited to 4,000 kg per hectare. Recognized both locally and internationally, Mukuzani Wine Cellar has earned numerous awards at prestigious competitions, solidifying its reputation as a beacon of Georgian winemaking excellence.
