Tariel Lomtadze's Marani is located in Racha, in the village of Khvanchkara. Viticulture and winemaking are family traditions. The renewed winery was established in 2015. The wine was bottled the same year and appeared on the market under the name "Lomtadze Family Wine."
The winery owns 1 hectare of vineyard in Khvanchkara, populated with Aleksandrouli, Mujuretuli, Tsulukidze Tetra, and Tsolikouri grapes. The main goal of the family is to cultivate forgotten Racha grape varieties and produce wine from them.
The quality of the grapes determines the quality of the wine; therefore, the vineyard is maintained using bio solutions, with process assistance from "Caucascert."
Lomtadze's Marani produces classic and qvevri wines: Khvanchkara, semi-sweet, Tetra, Aleksandrouli qvevri, Tsulukidze Tetra qvevri, and Tsolikouri qvevri. The wines are both sold locally and exported abroad.
The winery participates in wine competitions and exhibitions. Aleksandrouli won two silver medals in the International Qvevri Wine Competition. The same wine won a gold medal in the competition in 2021. Tsolikouri was awarded a silver medal in the International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) in 2022.
