Lashkhiebis Marani The village of Salkhino in Martvili municipality is recognized as a protected designation of origin zone for the Ojaleshi grape variety. In this area, Paata Lashkhia tends to a 25-year-old Ojaleshi vineyard spread over 3000 square meters, using organic methods throughout the entire period. He relies solely on contact pesticides in specific doses for spraying and employs organic fertilizers. Paata is a member of the Natural Wine Association, which annually inspects the organic practices of his vineyard and wine production.
The unique geographical location of this microzone, combined with the region's characteristic climate, humid subtropical maritime with mild winters and hot summers and the distinct properties of the Ojaleshi grape, along with the local, old winemaking traditions, all contribute to the unique organoleptic qualities of the "Salkhino Ojaleshi" wine.
