Beridzeta Marani Zesofeli winery and vineyards are strategically located in western and eastern Georgia, in the village of Zesopeli in the Adjara region and in Saguramo, Kartli. Currently spanning 12 hectares, these vineyards are set to expand further in the years to come. The winery in Zesopeli, established 8 years ago,began its first bottling in 2022 and won its two silver and two bronze medals in Winexpo-2024, Georgia.
This family-owned winery gained new momentum after the discovery of ancient Qvevris in their yard, dating back to the medieval era as early as 5th century. This archaeological finding highlighted the rich history of winemaking in western Georgia-Meskheti (Biblical Meshech) Mountainous gorge which flourished to its full extent all the way to the 18th century. Due to political invasions with its consequences, it declined for the last two centuries. This artifact which turned into a museum motivated the Beridze family to resurge the tradition to a larger industrial scale. Plans are underway to build a larger winery in Zesopeli and another in Saguramo, enhancing their capacity and commitment to producing quality wines. Beridzeta winery is specifically focused on the emerging Ancient World Wines category with traditional techniques of fermenting, maturing and aging wine in Qvevri.
