Tourdo winery was established in 2020, inspired by a tiny ancestral vineyard in Ruispiri, Telavi, Kakheti. This vineyard, home to ungrafted vines over 90 years old, provided a rich heritage to build upon.
The winery's marani (wine cellar) was constructed at the family house, a mere five-minute walk from the vineyards. In addition to preserving the old vines, a new Saperavi vineyard was also planted, ensuring a blend of tradition and innovation.
All wines are fermented and aged in traditional Qvevris. The inaugural vintage is an amber wine, crafted from a field blend of four different grape varieties. This first bottling showcases the unique character and rich history of the Tourdo Winery.
