Solomoné founded in 2018 in Chiatura, Zemo Imereti, stands on the land of the founder's great-grandfather, Solomon Lezhava. The winery's establishment continues a family tradition, with founder Gulda Chachanidze, a professional winemaker during the Soviet era, passing his extensive knowledge to his son. During house renovations, they discovered four 1200-liter Qvevris, and despite three being damaged, they still use the intact one for winemaking.
With a production capacity of 50,000 bottles, Solomone Winery spans 3 hectares of vineyards with vines aged between 8 and 15 years. They specialize in Imeretian grape varieties like Tsitska, Tsolikouri, Krakhuna, Dzelshavi, and Otskhanuri Sapere. The labels of SOLOMONE wines feature Braille in tribute to the founder's grandfather, who, despite losing his sight, cherished the sensory experience of wine. This heartfelt gesture symbolizes the winery's commitment to honoring family legacy and producing high-quality wines, demonstrating that Chiatura is capable of excellence beyond its manganese production heritage.
