Shano’s Family Winery was founded in 2015 to honor the centennial of Shalva Nozadze, the great-grandfather of the founders. Nestled in Martkopi, just 25 km from Tbilisi, the winery overlooks its 650 sqm vineyard, which boasts 372 Budeshuri Saperavi vines. This close proximity allows for meticulous attention to detail and the practice of regenerative viticulture.
Wine production began in 2019 with Budeshuri Saperavi, aged a year in Qvevri. By 2023, they expanded to include Budeshuri Saperavi Rosé, Kisi, and Khikhvi wines, all crafted using traditional methods. Prioritizing quality over quantity, the winery limits production to 500-600 bottles per variety annually, ensuring each bottle meets the highest standards.
