Shakriani Estate, founded by Nikoloz Tskhovrebadze in 2020, is deeply rooted in a tradition of viticulture and winemaking passed down through generations. Inspired by his parents and grandparents, Nikoloz decided to follow in their footsteps and continue the family legacy. The estate's journey began in 2006 when Nikoloz's parents planted Saperavi and Rkatsiteli grape varieties on 3 hectares of land in the village of Shakriani, within the Kindzmarauli micro-zone. Over the years, the vineyard expanded to cover 6 hectares, with additional plantings in 2015 and 2021. The winery's name, Shakriani Estate, is a tribute to the village where it is located.
In 2020, Nikoloz took the bold step of processing the estate's grapes himself, producing just 600 bottles in the first year with the guidance and support of his parents. His dedication and passion were recognized in 2022 when he won a grant through the "Produce in Georgia" program, enabling him to build a modern winery equipped with advanced technology. The following year, Nikoloz participated in an exchange program in France, gaining further expertise in viticulture and winemaking, which he brought back to Shakriani Estate. Today, the winery produces approximately 3,500-4,000 bottles annually, crafting traditional Qvevri and barrel wines from Saperavi, Rkatsiteli, and Kisi grape varieties.
