Khvtisia Wine

Established in 2017, Khvtisia Wine is a small family winery that first bottled its wine from the 2016 harvest. The history of their cellar and vineyards dates back much further, with a family tradition of viticulture led by their grandfather. They began cultivating their own vineyard in 2011, starting with Rkatsiteli, and achieved their first harvest in 2015. Over time, they expanded their vineyard, which now spans 1.5 hectares and includes Saperavi, Rkatsiteli, Mtsvane, and Kisi varieties.
As proud members of the Natural Wine Association, they adhere to organic viticulture and winemaking principles. They avoid pesticides and herbicides, using only copper and sulfur treatments. Their wines are naturally fermented without added cultured yeasts, and they do not employ filtration or fining processes. The winery produces a variety of wines, including the traditional Kakhetian style with six months of aging on skins and stems, as well as wines with shorter maceration periods or no maceration at all. For the past three years, they have also been crafting Pet-Nats, natural sparkling wines. Looking ahead, they plan to further expand their vineyard and cultivate more Khikhvi and Kisi varieties.
