Nestled in the heart of Georgia’s most significant wine region, Kakheti, the family-owned Janaani Winery in Ruispiri village stands as a testament to the enduring tradition of terroir vinification. The current head of the family, a historian by training with specialized education in viticulture and winemaking, oversees vineyard operations, while another family member, educated in France with a Master’s Degree in Vine and Wine Science, leads the cellar work.
The family has been pioneering in bottling wines from their unique micro-terroir, Janaani, a name associated with strength and health. Their wines, crafted with minimal intervention, are a true reflection of the distinctive terroir, offering natural, authentic flavors from endemic Georgian grape varieties. The estate vineyards, located on the right bank of the Alazani River, benefit from a unique combination of soil, climate, and topography, producing wines with rich texture, natural acidity, and excellent structure.
