Buza

Buza a Georgian indigenous red grape wine variety from Kartli. Compared to other Kartli varieties, Buza ripens early, its skin cracks, the juice flows out, and flies (Buzi in Georgian) swarm around it. Because of this characteristic, it has been named "Buza" or "Buzis Kurdzeni" (fly's grape). The Germans living in Kvemo Kartli called it "Vogeltraube" (Vogel — bird, Traube — bunch), and the Azerbaijani residents called it "Ağa Kirmizi" (Ağa — lord, Kirmiz — red).
