Mujuretuli a grape variety indigenous to the Racha region of Georgia, it plays a minor but a pivotal role as one half of the iconic semi-sweet wine Khvanchkara, which is celebrated for its rich history and unique flavor profile. This grape thrives in the microclimatic conditions of Racha, contributing to the region's viticultural heritage and the production of distinctive Georgian wines renowned both locally and internationally.
Viticulture
Mujuretuli, like Aleksandrouli, is known for its relatively low-yielding nature. It typically forms medium to small-sized bunches with oval-shaped berries of medium size. The grape exhibits very good resistance to cold and dry temperatures, and while it performs well in all soil types, it particularly thrives in alluvial and calcareous soils.
Wine styles
The ability of this variety to accumulate high amounts of sugars in specific terroirs provides winemakers with versatility to explore different styles.

Dry Red Wine can be made as a monovarietal or blended with its iconic sibling, Aleksandrouli. Dry wines from this variety also show extreme potential when aged in oak, gaining a totally new dimension and complexity.
