Grdzelmtevana is a noteworthy grape variety from Eastern Georgia, known for producing high-quality white table wine. Initially discovered in 1933 during an expedition to study Georgian grape varieties, it was found in the village of Bodbiskhevi and later propagated by the Viticulture and Winemaking Institute in Telavi. This variety, often referred to as the "forest grape" due to its origin story, is characterized by its medium-sized, round or slightly oval berries with a greenish-yellow color. It produces delicate, light straw-colored wines that are soft and delicate.
